Build-A-Bear Workshop $25 Gift Card Review and Giveaway!

My husband and I have a tradition with Jason that has become very meaningful to our family. On July 3rd of each year we attend the fireworks display at our local mall and beforehand we go to Build-A-Bear Workshop. At this point we have 4 bears and a ton of memories. When Spencer was born we wanted to include him in a similar tradition. Build-A-Bear helped us accomplish this by inviting our whole family to make bears in their store.

When we arrived at Build-A-Bear Workshop, Crystal was waiting to be our guide. She stood with the kids as they picked out which bear they would like to make, waiting patiently as they took their time making a decision. Jason chose Frosty the Snowman and Spencer chose a Moose.

Next stop was the Build-a-Sound. Both kids chose a sound box to place inside their bear so when you squeezed the hand it had a song to play or something to say. Spencer also chose a heartbeat to put inside his moose. Once those were chosen it was time to build that bear. For an even more special touch you can record your own greeting for you bear. Perfect for the child sleeping away from home or a gift being given to someone special.

The Stuff Me Station consists of a huge machine filled with stuffing and pipes leading out. Your guide will place your bear on a pipe while your child stands on a pedal and allows the stuffing to flow into their new bear friend. The display itself is something worth seeing. Your child will then choose a heart to place inside the bear, make a wish and the bear will be stitched up by the guide. He or she will include a bar code so if your bear is ever lost it can be returned to its rightful owner. Your or your child can then go and fluff the bear at the fluff station where once again they get to push a pedal while a hairdryer type of mechanism blows their bear and they can brush it out.

Jason’s favorite part of Build-A- Bear Workshop is the Name Me station. A row of computers await your bear’s new information such as birthday and name. Jason just likes that he is allowed to play on a computer without getting in trouble. Remember earlier I told you about the bar code that goes inside your bear? This is where you create your ID info so that your bear can always find its way home.

Finally dressing the bear is always loads of fun. The store is covered in tiny little bear clothes in every style you can think of. You can dress your bear as your favorite rock star, movie star or sports star. Jason chose to dress Frosty the Snowman in a Batman costume. I thought my husband might actually combust. He just couldn’t stand that Jason used some creativity. It was the funniest part of the entire experience. Spencer dressed his moose up like Santa Claus and daddy approved of that.

Build-A-Bear Workshop is fun for the entire family because it is so interactive. No one has to feel left out even if you only choose to make one bear.
