What Are Some Of Your Favorite TV Shows?

by Lee on January 31, 2010

As you all know I’m a nut for TV. I have my favorite shows I watch each day and that I really enjoy. I name my kids after TV characters for goodness sakes. There is just something about that fantasy life that appeals to me. For a few hours each night I get to slip away into another world where I have no problems of my own.

Some of my favorite shows are as follows:

Chuck (Adam Baldwin is my favorite actor)

Criminal Minds (Named my son after Spencer Reid)

Glee (Met the cast, love them, hello it’s about nerds singing)

Psych (my brand of humor LOVE James Roday and Dule Hill)

Community (I’d donate my children for 10 minutes with Joel McHale)

I have others of course but all of these hold some kind of special place in my heart.

I’d love to hear what you watch and why you choose to get lost in the characters or plot each and every week. So comment below and maybe you’ll open my eyes to something or someone new.

I am loving Chuck right now. I think Zac Levi is the definition of adorable. But I think the writing is great, and for such a quirky show, you can really get invested in the relationships of the characters.

I am a huge Lost fan. I’ve watched since the very beginning and I’ve been sucked in ever since. I love how much the writers/creators/actors have invested in this show and how they just want to make a really great story, even if it can be hard to follow.

Glee was MADE for me. I was a total choir nerd and the music is so so good.

I am also enjoying the new shows Modern Family and Life Unexpected (which is only 2 eps in, but good so far).

The only ones I watch regularly are CSI, 24 and Ghost Hunters. I watch a lot on HGTV and sometimes on Food Network. I’d watch more on TLC if my DH didn’t want to watch other stupid stuff :)

I am sure you know that NCIS is my favorite show. Mark Harmon is so dang sexy and so are Tony and McGee!
I also love Law and Order SVU and Law and Order but SVU is my favorite Law and Order show.
Desperate Housewives even more so after talking to Doug Savant he is such a nice guy. He was asking me questions about my life and the interview wasn’t all about him and he gave me some really good heart felt advice.
I really like Monk too and I cried when the series ended.
Judge Judy, Peoples Court cause I love court shows.
Strangers with Candy because it is hilarious.
The Secret Life of the American Teeenager also.

Currently, I watch Bones, American Idol and Survivor. That’s it. In the past I’ve watched Friends and E.R. Hmm I’m not much of a t.v. watcher.

I DVR way too much TV. It’s kind of embarrassing.

My favorite scripted shows are
Modern Family – OH MY GOD, I laugh out loud every single week
The Office – I want to have Jim’s love child
Glee
Law & Order: SVU – I hate the Criminal Intent one, though

And I love me some reality TV, too – Intervention, The Amazing Race, and anything on Bravo are my favorites.

I love LOST, SuperNanny and ABC’s Makeover Home Edition (that show is awesome) …

LOST is because my husband sat me down when we first met and had me watch the first season or two on DVD and it hooked me. So now Feb 2nd I will be sitting on my couch watching the last season this year.

SuperNanny is because I just love her positive parenting tips and tricks! Some of what she does I already have done or do but other ideas she shares help me to deal with the three little ones!

ABC’s Makeover Home Edition – or whatever it’s truly called, ya know with Ty?! Yeah that show is just amazing because they help so many families and communities!

How I Met Your Mother – It reminds me of Friends (which I loved) and I just crack up the whole time.

Big Bang Theory – HILARIOUS!

The Little Couple – I got addicted to this show because they are here in Houston and i recognize the places they go, but the couple really won my heart.

I used to be a HUGE TV watcher. Then I started to tune into your show on Thursday nights which made me stop watching Private Practice. From there I just stopped watching TV!
I’m looking forward to LOST. We have watched all the seasons through NetFlix.
We’re currently watching Alias reruns through NetFlix.
Besides NetFlix I don’t watch TV anymore. During the day it’s kids stuff and then at night I’m blogging, tweeting, catching up with friends…

The shows I watch are:

1. Desperate Housewives – Even though this has been on the air for a while I just started watching the beginning of last season. My mom and MIL have always watched it so I tried it as well and I was hooked after one episode.

2. Heroes – I have watched this show from day one and I love it. I love all the powers that people have. It would be cool to have some of them.

3. 90210 – I started watching this because I loved the original series and watched it with my mom and remembered being so sad when it went off the air so I tried this one out and loved it as well. Although it’s not like the original, I love that some of the original cast members are on the show and it all fits in, just 10 years later, lol.

4. The Office – I think this show is so funny and I love the entire cast and can really relate to a lot of them (this might not be a good thing, lol).

There have also been many shows within the past couple of years that I have absolutely loved but they were taken off the air. These include:

1. My Name is Earl
2. The Black Donnellys (This was only on for one season but it would be a great one to buy on DVD, even though the ending has you wanting to know more and you’ll never find out).
3. Canterbury’s Law
4. Life
5. The 4400

Currently I am really liking The Mentalist. It not only has the crime drama aspect of it, which is always exciting, but it has those quirky funny moments. I also love Lost. I am so looking forward to the final season which begins this month.
