EA Games has done it again. Need For Speed: Nitro is an action packed car racing game with quality effects. My son Jason, 5 years old, really enjoys being in the drivers seat. This game is a bit of a challenge for him though I don’t think he notices. You have the ability to race through 6 cities unlocking new fancier cars as you go. Jason hasn’t unlocked many things but like I said, he doesn’t know the difference and as long as he is in control of the “steering wheel” he is perfectly happy.
I liked the graphics on this game. The buildings and background were just beautiful especially in Dubai. I found them to be very realistic compared to some games. Well, that is until the cars drive by and change the colors of the buildings.
For a driving game on a DS format this one is great for us. It has enough intensity in the lower levels to keep Jason entertained which is all I can ask for. Check out the video below to see for yourself:

Two interesting aspects of this game that I like are the fact that the game is set in Dubai, pretty cool. I also like the “elimination race” feature.

I love that in co-op mode you can take part in street races across 5 cities to unlock new cars, parts, tracks , and challenges. Up to 3 players can also join you to play cooperatively .
