I do think that is a rather silly way to promote going green. I am all for a healthy environment but those advertisers really didn’t look into what the major concerns about becoming carbon zero are with the sceptics. Here in England most sceptics go on about it all being about tax and then here you have people being controlled by law to go green, not the friendliest of messages to promote the cause. That car isn’t even carbon zero, it’s a hybrid so still emits CO2.

Its a fantastic advert if you are green or are on your way/thinking about it, but if you are sceptical about climate change, worried about green-taxes etc… I think this advert would be more of a deterrent than a help.

No need to go super crazy over a funny advert though, wish English ads were that entertaining.

I definitely think it’s important to be conscious of how our actions impact the environment and I applaud those who live green. I’m not there yet though and don’t think I ever will get to that point, but picking up litter isn’t going to kill me and it’s a good example for the kids.

I loved it. But I’m pretty green, too. I do as much as I can to minimize my impact on the Earth. Of course the commercial was a joke, but hey, if it happens to help open some eyes to what we’re doing to the planet, more power to it.

I thought the ad was brilliant. It was able to….apeal, for lack of a better word, to two completely different camps. It is not too often something can stir the fringes on both sides.

I thought the ad made the Green Police look over reaching and sinisterly comical(not comical like ha ha, but maniacal like brwahahahah). Somewhat like Mall Cop on steroids, which isn’t a good thing. Do I think we need to take care of our planet? Of Course! We all have to live on this rock, so it is in our best interest to take care of it. Do I think we need yet ANOTHER ill prepared, burracratic nightmere of a government agency to do what common sense should tell you to do. I don’t think so.

The only thing that pissed me off was yet another ad company raping songs from my teen years. And the whole Stepford Community thing.

If I am not mistaken, the town of Stepford from the movie was based on Bridgeford, Connecticut and that was the town name on the side of the police car in the commercial.

I do believe in being eco-friendly, but they also need to make the “green” stuff affordable for everyone. If it wasn’t so expensive, more people would be doing it.

I thought it was funny. And, I believe in global warming and protecting our environment. Maybe you have to question those things to find offense in the commercial?
