WANTED: Hollywood Husband!

by Lee on February 4, 2010 · 40 comments

So as you have all seen I recently had my heart broken by my Hollywood Husband Adam Baldwin. He had played such an important role in my life for so many years and then I accidentally on purpose learned too much about him. Then I really got talking to him and heard first hand things that I’ll never be able to erase from my mind. Adam Baldwin, my Jayne Cobb, my John Casey…was a right wing extremist. He may disagree with that title but it works for me.

So now when I closed my eyes and thought about Jayne Cobb, he would ultimately begin talking to me about the evils of Howard Zinn or how the wonder of President Bush. Talk about a mood killer. So I explained all this to Adam, and he finds it amusing. The nerve. I asked him if he could recommend a new Hollywood Husband and he replied, “I’m not a Yenta”. Thanks for the help Adam. I then explained that when he goes on auditions he must be surrounded by other “Adam Baldwin” types. Or maybe his stunt double…So far he has been no help, apparently there are other more important things in his life than making me happy.

But this is exactly why I have now published a Want ad detailing exactly who I am and what I want from my new Hollywood Husband. Right wing extremists need not apply.

I’m a busy woman. When I’m home I never stop. I am the mother to three wonderful but high maintenance boys. Jason is 5, Spencer is 2 and Tim is 31. Whether it is doing laundry, running errands or making dinner I am always on the go. Real life is a blessing and one I would never give up. However sometimes I need an escape. I am seeking a Hollywood Husband to sweep me off my feet into the world of make believe. Requirements are as follows:

Must specialize in heroic character acting

Must have large biceps and triceps

Must look handsome with a goatee

Must harbor a soft side

Must be willing to fight for me above all else

Must NOT hold any political opinions (this one is especially important)

Must not be too famous as I have issues with sharing

Being married is acceptable but not to anyone in the spotlight

Real life criminal records frowned upon

Must enjoy long walks on the beach (just kidding I’ve just always wanted to say that)

As you can see I’ve incorporated some real life aspects into my requirements as I have been burned in the past. But technically speaking I’m really only interested in what you offer me in my own day dreams. I’ll be taking applications over the next few days. If anyone has recommendations please feel free to include them in the comment section along with a link to said actors work.

I woke, she fled, and day brought back my night.

I would suggest Simon Baker but then again he’s my crush and I’m not sure I could stand to watch you two together. ;-)

I am partial to Nathan Fillion myself. He can play numerous types of characters. And not being set up against Adam Baldwin, he would look much stronger.

I just wanted to say that I love your blog. I think Adam is very lucky to have your attention. Does he realize it?

Have you seen the actor who plays Colausssas in X-Men? Now he plays Felix in Twilight. Daniel Cudmore. Holy hotness.

I think Adam will miss you when you are gone. Even if he won’t admit it. He has to be somewhat narcissistic since he is an actor. Having a powerful mom blogger shower him with attention is probably making his day.

Loveya,
Sammi

Forget Felix, have you seen Emmet? He is the hottest of the group. Adam is kinda old so I don’t know how you feel about younger guys. But Kellan Lutz is one to check out.

Hmmm..

What about Michael Hall from Dexter?

Or Ryan Reynolds?

And maybe it is best not to talk to your Hollywood Husbands so you can keep your fantasies alive? LOL.

I agree with the above poster, one day you’ll have moved on to one of these other actors and Adam will miss you. He’ll feel abandoned by your extreme weirdness and loyalty.

Anyway I don’t care how left or right wing Adam is, he is still Jayne Cobb and I can’t imagine another fantasy man. Sorry I’m no help.

What about Zack Levi? I mean he is hot and getting hotter by the moment. Then you could talk to him and he would go to work and be all “I talked to Lee yesterday Adam, remember Lee, she used to love you, now she loves me. Yeah take that Sugar Bear”. And Adam would roll his eyes and grunt but in the privacy of his dressing room he’d cry because he missed your attention. Not in a romantic way of course just in a fan girl kind of way.

I think I just managed to sound crazy enough to get restraining orders from both Zack Levi and Adam Baldwin. Please forgive me.

Hey crazies. I think you re missing the point. I don’t want to talk to these men IRL. I need them to be inaccessible. I don’t even want them to have Twitter, maybe I should add that to the requirements.

And no I don’t think Adam will cry when I move on, I think he’ll throw a party and block me on Twitter. ;)

I second the Nathan Fillion and Kellan Lutz nominations. I like Dolph Lundgren but he is an acquired taste.

Not to be rude but I just don’t get your fascination with this guy. He isn’t all that great physical or otherwise. And he kind of treated you like crap. Do you really think it was by accident or misunderstanding he blocked you and all those other girls? I doubt it.

I too like Gerard Butler and think he would make a great Hollywood Husband for you. I like Russel Crowe as well but I think he has a criminal record and you frown upon that.

Well, I’m no help at all. I’m infatuated with Anderson Cooper.

I think you need Patti’s help, from Millionaire Matchmaker.

Hugh Jackman is such a nice guy. I got to meet him in the press room at People’s Choice. We talked about our kids.

Owen’s brother is Luke and his face got fat. LOL. It bothers me.

So far I’m digging Felix and Emmet of the Twilight Saga. They are both insanely hot, but also young, which I’m not as big a fan of.

Keep em coming girls!

May I suggest Misha Collins? He plays one helluva hot angel, and he leans about as far left as Adam Baldwin does right. Plus, he makes scruffy look sexy.

Don’t worry, Adam, I’ll catch you when Lee flings you casually to the side. ;-)

May I suggest Canadian hotties, even if they do have political views they tend not to go that exteme and are far less likely to be right wing. (although we do tend to get called communists by some people (I am looking at you Adam :p ))

Cory Montieth
Kiefer Sutherland (oops did jail time)
Ryan Reynolds
Keanu Reeves
Adam Beach
Nathan Fillion
Joshua Jackson
Paul Gross
Brandon Fraiser
Shawn Ashmore (Aarons ok to)
just to name a few :)

Only know a few of those names. The hearthrobs from my era are mostly dead now. Except for Robert Redford. But he didn’t age too well. I prefer to watch his old movies rather than flip through magazines & see him now.

I am so sorry Lee, I loved watching him on Firefly and that just makes me sad too.

Oooo what about Nathan Fillion? Please don’t tell me he is one of those too! He is awesome!

You could go to like wikipedia and go down the list of like famous (your political party preference) and pick out one that fits your criteria that isn’t a right wing extremist.

Gosh, your list of criteria is quite lengthy that I can’t think of anyone that meets all of your standards! It’s great to aim high, though. Hopefully one of the guys that the others recommended will fit and become your next Hollywood Husband (sorry about Adam, BTW)

The funny things is, his right-wing extremism is one of the main things I like about Adam Baldwin!!! He has principles and doesn’t jump on the same Hollywood bandwagon that everyone else seems to obsess about! He seems like all around such an awesome guy that it makes characters like John Casey and Jayne that much MORE enjoyable to watch!!!

Hey Gillian I kinda like that too – not because I understand it, I mean I try to, but its because he reminds me of my Dad in that sense. I often wonder what the world would be like if we followed that stance… so I’m sort of writing a screenplay about it.. its not all political.. just using it.. was a good idea but I’m not so sure now I’ve started.
